I want to submit a patch GNU screen, but my newly created account is inactive
and I cannot activate it.

The messages are getting to Google. Check your Junk folder. It is likely
that Gmail is simply not tagging it into your Inbox.

The problem was on inbox.google.com. I have been able to see the mail when
switching to gmail.com and later in inbox as well.
